Hello all,

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did search, but couldn't find anything.

Is there any way of only receiving notifications when the original poster has updated a thread? Absolutely a first world problem, I know, but it's annoying to see an update on a thread you've subscribed to only to see it's someone who isn't the original poster asking if there are any updates from the original poster, or randomly posting something which often has little or nothing to do with the thread itself.

Thanks in advance. smile

The simple answer is no, it’s not possible.

As above, unfortunately this is not a feature we currently have.

Sorry!

Hi Jack - It may not be a facility that you currently have but on (for example) long term build threads that go quiet for a while I would like to suggest that if those that have subscribed request that the moderators or admin team lock the thread

It could be locked with a statement on the last post

"this thread has been locked until the OP has an update for you all - if you are the OP please report this post if you have an update and we will unlock it"

OP has an update the thread gets unlocked and the post deleted

How simple would that be??? It's not like it's a lot of threads affected and I do share the frustration of the OP in this thread that some threads get an awful lot of posts saying any updates between updates

Just 'Watch' the threads you are interested in and they'll appear in your 'My Stuff' view when there's an update. smile

By the OP only?

That's an interesting one if that's the case

Only downside for me is that I use my stuff for participated threads so anyone bumping a thread is still likely to appear there - but I'll have a play and see how that works out

No, but it's easy to see in the 'What's New' list who the last contributor was. smile

But that's the problem. You won't know if it's someone responding to an update from the OP or someone asking for an update.

Back to square one. smile
