Received a contact yesterday from a dubious email address asking if my car is still for sale.

The second over a period of a few weeks.

Today I received two emails suggesting that I had been overcharged for my premium advert and inviting me to give them my bank details for the refund.

How many others have been targeted in this way ?

Same for me, got an odd email address asking if still for sale but no response when I said yes. Earlier got an email from support@iombigarcia claiming to be pistonheads saying I'd been selected for a free advert.

Thanks for the heads up on this - I'll send it onto the relevant people and let you know what we can do.

Balls, I’ve been done by this one too! Luckily the “refund” emails hit the spam filter, and are obviously not from PistonHeads. But still annoying that they’ve used an advert to target me.

I've just received an email from Pistonheads warning me about the scam I experienced.

I am very very impressed.

I have reported previous attempted frauds ... including one purporting to be from the FSA which i reported to them ... and multiple proper credit card and goods delivery frauds which I have reported to Fraud Line and the police ... and never a response.

A Gold Star for Pistonheads. Respect.
