unable to post...

My good lady has decided to join this hallowed site (I think she'd rather I didn't speak for her - understandable really!) but has found herself unable to post either new or in response to a question asked (Santorini thread in the case of the existing thread)

"the forums are currently not accepting posts from new members. This is due to persisteant abuse earlier today. The forums are likely to stay in this mode for some hours. We apologise for the inconvenience and hope you'll return later."


Seems this message has been in place for a few days now - any idea what's happening?

Is there not an overnight curfew for new members for the first month, ie no posting from 9pm until 8am or something similar.

There is another thread running in website feedback re the same thing.

This. There are also some forums that are have restricted posting rights for new members.

She'll be OK during the day, and once her probation period is over will be able to post anywhere.
