received this. All my senses are telling me it should not be genuine.... any ideas? No i haven't clicked the link.

I have put a PH car ad online recently..... maybe details were skimmed from there?

It isn't sinister.

If you put your phone number on a website for the world to see because you're trying to sell something someone is almost certainly going to scrape it and try and exploit it.

Just ignore it smile

does seem like standard phishing but weird they used the name PistonHeads...

Not really.

You put your details on PistonHeads so they make it look like it came from PistonHeads because some people will go "Oh I advertised a car on there recently, I wonder what they want.." and click it.

yes but i thought they targeted huge companies to masquerade as, so as to cast a wide net. Not piddling little websites full of incel car nerds.

I think they'll impersonate anything tbh.

Crime is cheap and it still pays sadly.
