Urgent request and apologise if this has been done. Keep getting this pop up today rendering my iPad unusable. Anyway to make it go away permanently?

I don’t have any anti virus apps. My iPad is essential for my work. Have turned it on and off etc. Seems to only appear when on PH?

Thanks in advance Mike

If it is some allegedly BT anniversary page popping up, I'm getting it, too.

Not BT but SKY anniversary. Maybe the phishing scam identifies your service provider and then sends you the specific BS pop up.

I believe it’s the crap advertisements they use that cause it. Another reason to always use an ad blocker unfortunately.

I've just had a virgin media customer survey appear when browsing a thread. Offerring a free prize but then wanting me to pay shipping costs. I closed PH down and was trying to find the scam thread to post on it.
This thread came up first instead.

What iPad suitable blocker would others recommend? Free would be ideal but if need to pay for best then so be it.

It's counter productive for PH. They'd probably get more eyes on the other adverts if they didn't allow this sort of nonsense through. As it is, we just end up blocking them all.

Matt Cup please excuse me as just a dim consumer. Isn’t Brave just a search engine? Whilst I appreciate that it has no ads this is a problem with an imbedded virus possibly from PH.

Brave is a browser with pretty good built-in ad blocking. No issues this morning when using that.

That said, I'm not having any issues using my default browser of Safari on Mac, using Ghostery.

About to download Ad blocker app. Any advances on Adblocker Pro. At £9.99 I dont want to do it more than once.

It’s frustrating because if the ads were delivered in a controlled way I.e. contained in the ad boxes I’d leave it alone but the ads are awful on iPad sometimes.

It’s why I run pi-hole (https://pi-hole.net/) which is a brilliant open source ad blocker that blocks all ads on all devices on your home network via DNS and can be run super cheaply on a raspberry pi or nearly any old/low powered equipment.

With all that said I’d be happy to allow PH ads if they weren’t so intrusive and cause so many problems.

Brave.

Good browser.

Although they have fked up the video codecs for Youtube which needs an extension.
