Posters on PH that aren’t into cars

Even though this is supposedly a car forum (albeit with some non car related subforums) I’ve noticed a fair number of posters that don’t seem to actually like cars. I was recently “debating” with a new joiner (or rejoiner under new name) and out of curiosity checked their other posts. Not one seemed to indicate even a vague interest in cars or driving (for fun). Odd.
There is one who visits the Lounge a lot who has frequently said he has no interest in cars and sits in the back while his wife drives him.
Personally, I make few comments on the car pages as I feel I have little to add, however I find what others write interesting .
The first forum I turn to is always Classics.

This is a large forum that attracts many people. It also attracts people from other forums that dislike/hate cars and they would sometimes mention this forum when expressing their distaste in cars and car enthusiasts. Some people just want to come here and troll in order to upset others and I am not sure what they are trying to fulfil in their life.
A lot of posters claiming to be car fans have no car in their profile.
There is a small band of posters I like on here, the rest I take with a large pinch of salt.
I strangely don’t find PH as toxic as when I joined.
Some of the real tossers have been rightly banned years ago.
There are a lot of posters on here I think thank god I don’t know you in life.

ker, I was glad he got banned. They’re probably both still on here somewhere with different names though. It’s less toxic than it used to be, I’ve been on here for at least 10 years and it’s always been argumentative and slightly unpleasant at times. But 10 years ago there was so many more regular posters who were actually funny and not dicks. I think most have had enough of it here, sometimes the names pop up but not often at all.
I think a lot of the tossers now are just on the wind up. Some seem to get their knickers in a twist if somebody has a different opinion to them. Perhaps there’s just a lot of Asperger’s syndrome on her?
On the original topic, I’ve noticed a lot of posters who are seemingly uninterested in cars. I’ve often thought they must have been directed to here for help on another matter, and got sucked in. Some are probably here just to be on the troll.
I would call this place a car forum plus a general UK forum for people who aren’t mumsnetters and want something more personal than Reddit.
Lots of subject matter experts on this forum and interesting perspectives on a range of issues. Even the toxic conversations are far more civilised than the stuff in the comments section of news websites.

I’m on a few different forums (fora?), including motorbikes, photography, aviation, F1 etc and all of them have members who just seem to want to disagree with everyone, but have no real interest in the core subject of the forum.
It’s the same on social media, there’s always someone who comments just to get a reaction. It used to wind me up a bit but now I just block/ignore them. It is a bit odd though.

I just think of this place as More male based mumsnet these days. I have a few mates who are on here with only a very passing interest in cars.
My only issue with it is if a non car or speed enthusiast decides to criticise or berate others for being into cars/driving. I was explaining how the range on my Tesla drops substantially as you go past 80 and really not great at 90+. Cue some chap laying down the law on how no one should ever exceed 90 on the public road and matter of time before I kill someone.

I’d forgotten about ‘My Garage’. I’ve just moved the only car listed in there to previously owned.
If you need to know what I currently drive to decide whether to take me seriously then I don’t think it’s me who has a problem.
ETA having just re-read the original post when I do comment on anything it’s more likely to relate to anything other than cars.
