When you start a new thread there is an option at the top to start a poll.

Not if the function isn't turned on.

Why/when does that happen? I just assumed it was always there .... unless some posters are unworthy

It's turned off as a standard default for all members and we just flick a switch when asked.

It's a privilege that must be used wisely or we flick the switch the other way.
