We haven't changed anything recently. Is this only happening on Brave?
I think it's Brave-specific. I had an update for Brave on Saturday which brought the problem in, and it's not a flip between mobile/desktop flags as that remains unchecked (my first thought).Chrome seems to be working fine at the moment.
Galaxy S9 btw if it's any help.

2 years ago CarGurus bought PistonHeads from Haymarket and we promptly ripped out the poor performing ad code. At the end of that thread people told us thank you and that they can stop using Brave and switch back to Chrome.
We’ve continued from there and over the past two years we have removed the number of ad slots from most pages on this site because we felt it was detrimental to the browsing experience. We are continuing to do this as we modernize our tech stack, page by page. Now you’ll see around 2-3 ads on most pages site-wide where it used to be 4-5.
We have also ensured that we serve consistent ad sizes so that there isn’t a page jump (layout shift) when they load. We’ve put a lot of focus into ensuring ads are not detrimental to your viewing experience.
We also don’t load ad slots until you scroll down to see them, which helps with performance.
I agree that criticism is due for how bad the ads on this website used to be. The full site takeover ads were particularly atrocious. But, particularly with all the improvements we’ve done behind the scenes, I don’t understand the current criticism of our ads.
That being said, if you don’t think we’ve done a good enough job and want to use Brave, DuckDuckGo, or even just an ad blocker, that’s fine. We aren’t going to stop you or degrade your experience. But also, we aren’t going to support the browser if you have any trouble using it.

As per this post, we don't support Brave as a browser so if it's only happening on Brave, them I'm afraid we're unable to help on this occasion.Matt Dell said:

Can't really see with that to be fair, the ads on the forums now are hugely less intrusive then they used to be, and far less brutal than most sites these days.Weird, it's happened to me twice now on consecutive days at roughly this time in the morning. I'm not entirely convinced that it is a brave bug because it looks like a different layout being tested somewhere in the PH network which is leaking to real users.
