7 days in the sin bin

OK I'm confused.

I have just had my seven days in the sin bin for 'Your account has been suspended for 7 days for the following reason: Advertising/promotion/charity post'

Which I don't remember doing?

However I thought all would be well now, but it appears I can't post in certain threads.

A little guidance/help would be appreciated.

You received a site-wide 7 day ban.

You also have been banned from a number of specific threads, which is permanent.

Just stick to the rules and you'll be fine ...

OK, I thought I had stuck to the rules?

I honestly don't believe I've done anything worse than any other poster to receive such a ban?

This is precisely why I'm asking for some help.

Just for clarity, any ban doesn't put you in the Sin bin! the Sin Bin forum is invite only, we invite you in to discuss the issue in hand and when concluded we let you back into the forums. We also have Parc Ferme forum which is for informal offline chats.
