Dear admins,

Can you please move ALL EV posts and articles, including those written by Pistonheads into the appropriate EV and alternative fuels forum?

These articles are depressing those of us who are not looking forward to being forced into EVs by our evil overlords.

I hadn’t realised it was compulsory to read articles and posts you aren’t interested in.

Wow, how far has the OP got his head in the sand!

EVs are here, there is news about EVs because that's all the news there is. ICE is dead. Get over it.

Dangerous game to suggest, before we know it Autoexpress would be offering more relevant news to the enthusiast car industry than Pistonheads!

I’ve noticed that posts about EVs started by PH members in GG (which are invariably pointing out issues with EVs) get moved to the EV sub forum and die quietly.

Articles about EVs posted by PH themselves get left in GG however.

I agree OP - put it all in the EV sub forum.

I think at some point the two sections will have to merge, or EV section will be the main section and there’ll be a sub section for ICE. For a car guy it’s a little sad, but it’s inevitable.

Personally I’m not against electric cars, I’ve not driven one yet (but would love a go in a Tesla) but I’m sure you can still have fun with an electric car. I have considered an electric car to replace my evil dirty diesel. I just struggle to find one that I both like the look of and that I can afford. Corsa/208 too small, don’t like crossovers and not keen on the looks of the Zoe or Leaf.
If I could afford a model 3 I’m pretty sure I’d be driving one now.
Before long each model with have an electric option, and that’s probably when I’ll get one.

most "news" goes into GG, because that is where most people start their trawl of the forum. So articles that appear on the PH front page as news, then get linked to a thread in GG.

members posting EV specific discussion threads (ie not linked to any news or front page article) in GG gets moved to the EV subforum.

Seems simple enough to understand to me.

I guess because most people don’t have £40k to spend on a standard family saloon that is 30-50% more expensive than its ICE equivalent.

EV have been here for 120+ years, they are now at a point where they are becoming mainstream and economically viable (to build and to own), ICE isn’t dead, it may not be ‘new’ tech but we’ve got 10+ years of ICE / Hybrid left on our roads as new cars nevermind older ones.

EVs aren’t in any way exciting, where is the differentiation between ‘types’ (I.e. 4 cyl, 6 cyl, V8), it’s all just the same tech in a different body with varying acceleration rates ... zzzzzzzz

Not anti EV at all, I’ll get one as my next car, but they are dreadfully dull and this is pistonheads, last time I checked they have zero pistons.

It'll be a pretty empty news section in a few years in general gassing if you boot out the ev stuff

And the “Motoring News” section. Where does that fit into the mix?

Yeah but...

If someone starts a thread in GG about BMW it doesn’t get shifted to the BMW forum does it? Whereas threads about Tesla get moved to the EV section.

Almost like they deliberately move anything users post about EVs away from GG so they die off quietly.

Seems they only want positive news about EVs in GG.

on the whole the mods and owners of this site seem to have decided to bury EVs and try and ignore it hope it goes away, which will turn this site into a relic like some traction engine fansite.

I imagine most car enthusiast sites will probably end up a bit like this forum:

Given EV is the future and/or here now depending on fanboy status, why do the threads die off in the EV section scratchchin

True.
You can't talk about de-catting an EV, or removing the muffler to make it more annoying to others.
And with the introduction of speed limiters, not much, if any tuning will happen.
ICE engines have enjoyed over 100 years of dominance, now they are just circling the drain.

The EV section was started at the request of PHers in order to give them a ‘home’ on PH:

I was thinking more that EVs will reduce cars to mere appliances to which people will pay so little regard that only a fringe group of IT nerds will be interested in them.
