But why? The OP doesn't "own" the thread. It's a public forum and quite simply closing topics just because they don't go the way he wants, or he doesn't get what he want's really isn't in the spirit of PistonHeads, and nor is it in anyone's interests - certainly not in the interests of whoever own PH these days, as they rely on visits, clicks and advertising revenue. That one person has had a large number of his own threads shut down, and if that is the attitude the forum moderators are going to take they may as well ban the OP and make life easier for everyone.
It would be good to hear an explanation from the moderators, because I don't see anywhere in the rules that once you make a thread it is "yours" to close down dissenting views as you see fit. This is a place for discussion, and should remain so whether threads go in their intended direction or not.

That thread was locked at the request of the OP, a courtesy the moderating team extend to everyone if asked unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Starting threads to try and get around that will just result in them being deleted.
The moderating team aren’t on anyone’s payroll (if only!)
The moderating team will not comment on individual deletions/removals.
