Pages not loading images

Hi. This seems to be happening to me recently. When I click on a topic, it will take an age for images to upload and then in the end little white squares will appear where the images should be, I hit the refresh button and they all suddenly appear. It’s on every topic I click on.

This is on my phone and can be on my Wi-Fi, data or any other Wi-Fi at work etc.

Is anyone else having these issues?

Yes, I’ve been having this too, but not on every thread.

Some seem to have the images fine, whereas others have had none visible for a week or so.

Me too, I'm only finding it when using Microsoft Edge though. Google Chrome and my iPad appear to be fine.

I thought maybe my company had changed their security settings but it seems I'm not the only one here.

Same here. Ipad Safari I can click on white square and it opens a thumbsnap page with image on. Ipad chrome works fine

Same for me, plain white squares on iPhoneXR running safari and on MacBook Pro on Safari I tend to get the little blue question marks. Both up to date and been happening for around a week.

Thanks all for reporting. We're not aware of any issues that may be causing this - it this just isolated to Thumbsnap images or also images hosted on other sites too?

If anyone can provide some specific examples such as does it only happen on a specific image or thread regularly, that would be really helpful.

Seems to be thumbsnap images which appear as a white square (although not all). Click on white square and it opens the photo in Thumbsnap site.
If I go back to thread then photo is there and always is after that.
The last one in this thread was a white square when I posted here

Flickr and other hosts seem fine

The images from articles are fine just the ones uploaded by users via Thumbsnap from what I’ve seen.

Only get this occasionally but refreshing the page seems to then load the images for me when I get the white squares

Thanks all, it looks like this issue is isolated to Thumbsnap then. I'll report to the engineering team and see if there's anything that Thumbsnap can do.

I'm getting this again today.

It may be coincidence, but my browser seems to hang when trying to access quantcast.mgr.consensu.org when this happens. The page then loads (with images missing), but a refresh loads everything, images included, immediately without hanging on accessing the quantcast URL.

And yes, it appears to be images hosted by Thumbsnap that are not loading first time round.

Yep still happening for me too. I’m just using google chrome when on my phone now and it’s fixed the problem.

Thanks for reporting the issue (and thanks to Ben for bring this to our attention).

We're currently not aware of any media-serving issues and traffic patterns to our servers seem to be at normal levels at the moment but we'll look into it and see if there's something we can do.

Same for me for days now using safari or chrome on an ipad.

Laptop they load fine.

Quite tired of it now to be frank, your ads which I don’t want to see load fine, but the images I want to see do not.

This isn’t isolated to a single thread BUT every thread for me.
