From the "how many have been vaccinated" thread;

MX5Biologist said:
My posts won't exist for much longer, as I have requested my account to be deleted. At least one of the moderators has been banning people for reporting posts that contain objectionable content, ie a moderator is seeking to promote objectionable content. I cannot be part of that.
The inference is that anyone who reports a post/poster for spreading questionable science/propaganda is then being banned themselves.

Is this open for discussion? It's quite an accusation to make and certainly not something I'd imagine our fearless moderators to get up to.

Without getting too involved in something that doesn't involve me, I can quite confidently say that nobody has been banned for reporting a specific post or type of post and that the moderating team are not, and do not, ban people for holding a particular belief unless it is used for trolling/misinformation.

I think if MX5biologist feels this is incorrect they should contact Ben who would look into it further but I feel they are maybe overreacting slightly to the situation.

As you’re here Rotrex, can you give us an insight into Byker being instantly banned from the Trump thread, a thread that you yourself as a mod have posted on numerous times, and why Rule 16 seems to have been invoked almost on a whim as his posting style and content hasn’t changed in all the time the Trump thread been active?

I can't comment on that at the moment, it's an ongoing discussion.

the interactions i've had with the many banned posters, really doesn't suprise me. They are probably the experts in the field, but this is a gen pop forum, and they end up coming across very condescending in their responses and forum activity.

It doesn't seem unreasonable to ask what can and cannot be posted from other sites.

I don't want to be banned or see threads deleted (mine or anyone else's) for posting a tweet for example which is public by their very nature but might fall foul of rule 16 depending how it's being interpreted.
