OK, someone called me out and said that the thread was just for remembering the incident and not commenting on the RNLI. I accept that and would like to apologise, the other forum member made it very clear, but I can't apologise because I'm blocked. Am I now a 'non person' or do I get a chance to speak again? Does my comment stand forever without a retort?

I have seen this and I accept your apology and I am grateful that you have done so. To carry this discussion out on the thread would start to derail it which would not be the way forwards.
There are a few threads discussing the current happenings with the RNLI. I do not agree with the comments you made but this is not the place to discuss it either.
