Can you provide some more information on what browser and device you're using please?

Every time I come back to it on a new browser session I have to go to "My Profile", then back to the forum home, otherwise it doesn't recognise that I'm logged in. I don't (usually) have to log in, just go "via" that page. That's annoying enough, though. Windows 10 PC, Edge.

Oh, that would probably work for me, too - I'll have to try that next time I've opened a new window. Slightly quicker than going via the profile page.

Thank you for the additional information. I'm not aware of this being a widespread issue but will check in with the tech team.

If anyone else is experiencing this, please let us know.

I had the same for some while now just didn't realise it was a problem!

Win 10 and Chrome both up to date.

I get this from time to time on all the platforms I use: Firefox on Mac OSX, Samsung Browser on Android, Firefox on Linux.

Clicking on the 'My Stuff' link also puts things right (it recognises again that I am, in fact, logged in).

This is to do with cookies and seems to affect a small number of users. It’s not currently something we’re able to fix, so I’m afraid it’s something that you’ll have to accept as a quirk of using the site for now. If it’s really frustrating you, then it might be worth trying a different browser to see if it goes away.
