piston heads adverts/info pop ups
Discussion
How do I prevent piston heads pop ups asking do I want this thread to my email, why am I looking at this forum, do I want updates on this forum thread etc. find it most annoying and am nervous about clicking on yes in case I cannot cancel and will leave me getting updates on something on which I have no interest.
Our pop ups are set up to only target a user once and a very small subset of audience (generally 5% or less), so you shouldn't be seeing these repeatedly on a supported browser.
Using ad blockers or unsupported browsers like Brave are actually more likely to cause them to appear multiple times if they're unable to block them from appearing.
Have you tried using a different browser to see if you still experience the issue?

I've had the why did you come here 20 times at least on one day. Using ad blockers or unsupported browsers like Brave are actually more likely to cause them to appear multiple times if they're unable to block them from appearing.

Presumably that isn't just from PH
I haven't run an adblocker on PH since they slimmed down the level of ads a while back and I stopped using brave at the same time.
I see the odd banner at the top of the page and the occasional one embedded in the forum posts - to me this is acceptable level of ad content
Some of the MSM (newspapers) online are frankly horrific and I won't click on a link because I know it won't be worth reading and the level of ads is going to piss me off before I even finish reading the content
