1000 posts needed to contribute in NP&E - ridiculous

I have been a member 17 years with well less than 1000 posts.
I am a regular reader and contributor.

It’s ridiculous that I can’t make a contribution in NP&E until I make 1000 posts – it encourages people to make drivel/nonsense posts in order to qualify.

One reason I like PH forums is because it is not over moderated – but this is just dim witted and the rule makers/mods need to take a second to consider this before banning me for my observation.

I have a valid point to raise and don't abuse this forum, but this is beyond stupid.

17 yrs and less than 1000 posts sounds like you can’t be a regular contributor but actually that’s around 4 per month so I guess it is regular of sorts.
