Who on earth suggested the arbitrary 1000 posts before being ‘trusted’ to post on NP&E?!

Ridiculous.

Unimpressed.

If anything it just encourages arguments between the more militant members with huge post counts and discourages new members joining the discussion.

[shrug] It's their ball, goalposts, pitch and rules.

I wouldn't have been surprised if they hadn't deleted NP&E altogether. It's not unknown for websites to remove their forums as simply not worth the trouble. And with the upcoming legislative changes I suspect the idea is still rattling round PH Towers.

I think it's mainly there to weed out people who can't be bothered to use the search function to see if their point has already been addressed by a massive long thread in the last few days.
