New rules for NP&E prevent me from a legitimate post

The post on NP&E relating to the fatal Bugatti accident highlights for me the obvious flaw in the 1000 post requirement.

I have known the Diffey family for more than 50 years and would very much liked to have added my condolences and thoughts, but as a relative newbie, who nonetheless posts randomly and I hope inoffensively across the PH spectrum, I have no prospect of achieving the required time and post requirement to be able to contribute to this, or indeed any other future NP&E topic.

I look at the NP&E threads almost daily, and often would like to comment, but frustratingly cannot add anything useful to a conversation I have a genuine interest in.

Would General Gassing be better?

It is likely to engage with more petrol heads than NP&E, which can be a bit of a swamp.

All the same, a very tragic accident and my condolences to his family.

IBTL 500 posts would be fairer than 1000 IMHO.
