You need to have words with whoever looks after, or manages your Facebook page.

The rainbow pistonheads logo post has attracted the thick end of 500 comments, and I’m sad to say that a surprising number of comments and replies range from negative to outright bigoted, offensive, and even straying into racism about ‘brown people’ and BLM. Mostly it is the standard “shoving it down our throats” and “I’m unsubscribing” type remarks.

I appreciate Facebook attracts debate and comments, but a a brand and business, this really doesn’t look good for you at all, and reflects badly on the rest of us who use the forum.

Perhaps time to start actively wielding the ban hammer on facebook as well as the forum?

Edited to add: a few comments seem to have vanished now, but I’m not sure if this is the actions of PH or other users reporting them to Facebook.

Totally agree with the good Lord. (MARYLEBONE that is)

Car Gurus / PH need to take some responsibility for their supporters on FB. It’s not good to see hateful comments under the PH banner.
Odd, when you consider the bans meted out on PH. The ‘5 K Barge ‘ thread is an oasis of civility and good humour compared to the FB cretins.

I’m glad I don’t use that Facebook thing. Seems like a hell of a place to me.

Not the biggest shock.

There was a thread on here a couple of years ago on this subject (I think it was when Barclays Bank changed their logo) and it was exactly the same.

I think what surprised me was that unlike the relative anonymity of a forum, these people are posting on Facebook under their real names, real photos of themselves, and often their job or employer listed in their profile, and they seem perfectly comfortable with expressing their disgust regarding Pride week.

It didn’t take long for the comments to spill over into bashing BLM, ‘wokeness’, ‘brown people’ and finally… electric cars.

All helping to cement the reputation of us all being a bunch of bigoted dinosaurs.

I like PH a lot, otherwise I wouldn’t be here, but I sometimes despair over some of the people who share the community with us.

It's not the slightest of shocks to me. Their views are all over PH.

They don't have an issue posting things under their own names as they as they genuinely don't see the issues with their views and behaviour.

It doesn't surprise me that people like that feel emboldened.

I'm in two minds to be honest as I think if people want to embarrass themselves in that way let them do so and let people see their grubby views.

But of course as a brand you're not going to want to be anywhere near that.

Doesn’t surprise me. Went nuts in NP&E when Barclays put their app logo in pride colours so I imagine the same knuckle draggers feel more emboldened on FB than here what with the threat of the ban hammer and all.

Report the users, then FB will deal with them. They can then burst a blood vessel in their foreheads as they rant about no free speech to insult others. biggrin If PH just deletes the comments, they get away with it.

And remind them we do not have freedom of speech in the UK we have freedom of expression which says you have a duty to behave responsibly and to respect other people’s rights. So if they are banned, tough, it's their own Neanderthal brained fault.

I think the problem is that things spiral out of control and then you have someone being beaten up.

It may not bother you but you shouldn't have to put up with it and their grubby views probably go beyond sexuality.

I doubt they're too tolerant of peoples skin colour and religion and all other kinds of things.

It needs calling out.

OP - Are you not tolerate of others views that don't align with your own? Is that not the definition of bigotry?
