I know it's been asked in the past and rejected where we can 'ignore' certain users postings, but can we look at it another way, can it be possible to filter a thread to only see posts made by the OP?

This would be very useful in threads that gather alot of comments but you're only interested updates from the OP.

Seems like a daft idea to me but I am on the lash smile

Here's what the last thread you started would look like, doesn't seem that useful a function ..

We bought our property in March 2019, the people we purchased off moved down the road.

After moving in we were still getting mail for them so we would walk down and post it to them, caught them in person and motioned it on more than one occasion and they kept saying they would get around to updating their address.

We have since stopped taking it to them but started writing no longer at this address and popping it back in the Post Box

We are still receiving mail for them and some of these are from Banks, HMRC and DWP. Late last year he died, we know this as they are friends of friends and friends of my GF's clients.

This week we have received a letter titled to his estate, whilst I will ensure this is handed to his wife in person, is it anything to be concerned about other than they don't have their own affairs in order?

My gut feeling is no but thought i'd check with the masses.

You're correct. My last thread isn't the type where people would be wanting to see my updates as I was asking for advice.

A reader's car thread for instance or a thread where the OP is posting updates others are interested in would be beneficial, funnily enough, exactly as I explained.

Now put your phone down if your in the pub and interact with whomever you're out with.

Is this new? I like the idea!

However, it seems to need a hard refresh (CTRL-F5) to get the layout working correctly.

Until I'd done that, it was generally to cock...

I can see the benefit when you're looking at Reader's car threads and want to skip the comments.

I don't like the centre position of the option though, no need for top and bottom also.

Sorry I must have missed a meeting.

Got this coming up when I go to a topic on the forums now I get OP posts only. Nothing seems to have changed but I have no clue what it means.

Must me being dense but maybe it was announced on my day off.

I disagree. There are numerous threads where I find myself trawling through loads of replies, people arguing with each other, etc. to see if the OP has updated on something. If I could filter out everything except the OP I could quickly see if there's been an update. It'll make my life easier!

Just come across this myself and tried it on the damp caravan thread. Looks like it reloads the thread only showing posts by the original poster. Potentially very useful when you return to a thread to see if the OP has updated it, as it will save you having to trawl through pages of other posters arguing.

Good start, although IMO it would work better as a threaded model for "Readers cars" et al.

So you have the OP posting an update and then people are replying to *that* single post rather than just adding to the entire post.

So something like this and you could choose how many levels to go.

OP Post 1
| Reply 1
| Reply 2
| | Reply to Reply 2
| | | Reply to reply to reply smile
OP Post 2
OP Post 3
| Reply
OP Post 4

etc.

Brilliant addition, several longrunning threads are hard to keep track of and this makes it a breeze!
