I have favorited the Engines and Drivetrain forum. There's a lot of interesting stuff there.

There is also a '4-Stroke Redesigned' topic posted by somebody called Feliks. He is a prolific poster who posts uninformed nonesense on a regular basis. I'm getting increasingly irritated by it and have no interest in seeing any of his posts ever again, but practically every visit to Pistonheads leaves this rubbish in my What's New view.

I get that I can choose not to click that link. But the whole point of favorites and the What's New view in my opinion is that it shows me new stuff that is interesting to me. I want to systematically exclude this rubbish from my daily Pistonheads experience. Please help me do that.

What's New shows you everything since your last visit, not just stuff that is interesting to you. You can remove the topic from your My Stuff, but it'll continue to show up in What's New.

Best I can suggest is to use the My Stuff area for all your topics and click the X to the right which will remove it from the My Stuff area. As mentioned, the topic will still appear in "What's New" if it's been updated recently. I use the X facility to unfollow topics I've contributed to on My Stuff that I've lost interest in.

How would Whats New be able to know what is interesting to you? It isn't profiling you based on the content of threads you have viewed or commented in.

My Stuff shows threads you have posted in, however you only need to click the small cross [x] on the far right to remove a topic from the list.

It also shows threads you have chosen to 'Watch'; you don't have to have posted in them for them to appear in 'My Stuff'. smile

What's New shows me all threads with unread posts in the forums I've chosen as favorites.

The posts I don't want to see are all in that one thread. However, I never watched that thread explicitly - I see it because it's in a forum I've marked as favorite.

I can't - I never watched it and it is not in My Stuff.

Don’t you like steam engines?

Inefficient steam engines at that.

I suppose you could report his posts for constantly linking to his own YouTube channel. I’m sure this is against the rules? Or just ignore him.

How? I'm on a phone and can't see how to do this. Do I need to be on a desktop/laptop?

No idea. I don't use a phone for internet, but on my tablet there's an 'X' on the right hand side of each thread in My Stuff. Click that.
