Hi mods

Are you able to advise why the above thread was removed?

Ditto. Didn't seem an offensive thread in any way (at least it wasn't when I looked yesterday).

At a guess, PH don't want to be a front for the kind of "pump&dump" stock pushing that RC was doing. Which is a stance I'm comfortable with.

Agree with the principle but I thought the thread itself was an excellent way of warning people about how the "pump and dump" crowd operate. Loads of faux-knowledge, talk about "off exchange" purchases, and various other bits of BS which was exposed in relatively short order.

It'd be easier to have a sticky along the lines of 'Don't listen to the Rev, he's been on Reddit again' smile

I'm inclined to agree. For me it's better than the content is ridiculed in short order rather than being removed completely.

My thoughts as well. I thought it was a good example of some of the silliness to avoid.

Any chance of reinstatement? Or does it not work like that?

There is an existing thread for the discussion of high risk investments which would be a more appropriate place to discuss the stock.

We also don't want the Finance forum to become full of threads promoting individual stocks.

The thing is it wasn't being pushed as "high risk". The thread title of the "What's your Big gamble" thread does kind of warn people of what's inside whereas this thread was (IMHO) a little insidious.

I’m with PH on this one - especially as BBBY is a US listed stock and there’s clearly some shenanigans going on. I’m not sure if this documentary was mentioned on the last thread but Eat The Rich : The GameStop Saga was really well produced and gave great insight into pump and dump (on Netflix).

Another one popped up, +30%. It’s like WSB is bleeding across into PH.
