Seems like they have changed again and posters with less than 12 months "service" are now allowed to start threads.

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Or is it now either 12 months or 1000 posts to gain posting rights, whichever comes first ?

Just asking for a friend.

Started in GG originally and then a mod moved it to NPE?

My mistake - it was in the Lounge originally.

They probably started the thread in the wrong subforum, Mods would've moved it to NP&E.

So a good rule circumvention strategy then.

I don't believe the Mods would do that, would they smile

So all new posters or those with a low post count have to do is post an obvious NP & E subject in another forum and the Mods will oblige by moving it.scratchchin

They still won’t then be able to comment on it again. It’s not like the majority of opening posts in NP&E have any substance anyway, it’s usually a link to a news story and/or a few lines.

Tldr: you are over thinking it.

Or perhaps now more likely the OP to the thread can no longer post in it.

The mentality of PH mods defies logic.

Tell your friend it's both

You need both a min of 12 mths and a min of 1000 posts (Obviously made not in NP&E if post implementation of the requirements)

Thread was started outside N,P& E and moved there by the mods. No point in having the various forums such as N,P&E if news related threads are not contained to that forum.
