Yeah, it comes and goes. Sometimes I just get [ quote= ][ /quote ]

without the spaces, because now, it's working .

I've seen it where it says Said [ ]

So replaces the quote with no name and blank inside the quote.

It's only happened to me once but on current threads this is still happening to others.

I've had this a couple of times, including once this morning. Left the thread and went straight back in and tried to quote the same post and it worked that second time.

Looks like it's some sort of record locking thing, so the 'quote' has no user or message data in it as the access in the backend fails? Seems a regular way to get it to happen is to try to quote a post when someone is busy editing it.

I've had this more than once and more often than not the post the quote failed on reappeared with an edit & was then immediately quotable. Not sure if its a 100% correlation but it's certainly the majority of cases.

AIUI those events occur when a poster is editing the post and the editing hasn't finished. Possibly also if the delete option is waiting to be activated, but IME post editing looks to be causing most of it.
