The previous thread got instantly closed without the opportunity for me to reply.

The link that you provided to a previous thread seemed to be about liability and not about freedom of opinion. So the reply was confusing as non of my posts/replies to any thread on Pistonheads has crossed in to the issue of 'liability' or legal recourse from a 3rd party.

Rules of posting No.23 basically states that a forum member can not contact a Mod nor create a thread about a specific case, I don't believe I have done this so far as I am keeping it 'general' rather than specific.

Is it the case that a forum member can not be able to find out why they have been banned? - There doesn't seem to be any option available to "discuss further" as you elude to.

Basically, I would simply like to know why I have been banned from the politics thread and from the recent car buying thread. I am at a loss as to which forum rules I have broken.

(I suspect that a mod simply banned me due to someone clicking the report button, and not taking the time to read my replies in context with the threads - it seems if this is the case then its a very easy way for some posters to cancel others who have a different opinions to their own. If that is how Pistonheads is run then please do ban me completely, and hopefully this will serve as a message to other members who may falsely think they are free to offer an opinion within discussions).

Big Al.

As far as I can ascertain, you were banned for the NP&E forum by one moderator for "Personal remarks against another user" shortly after that a 7 day thread ban (now expired) was issued by another moderator for trolling the thread. Also it appears that in addition to these two bans you've received another thread ban from a third moderator for Trolling an EV thread.

So as I previously stated any questions regarding moderation and/or the editing/removal of posts fall under the rule of posting No.23 guidelines.

Again HTH.
