Or - as I asked in my last thread in the feedback forum - are the mods playing favourites and applying the rules differently for their preferred contributors?

Last week I said I had reported an image for containing the word ‘fking’ [which you will note and appreciate I am spelling correctly so that the forum software can censor it as you intend it to do and I am making no attempt to evade the swear filter]

My understanding being that one is allowed to swear to one’s heart’s content provided you spell the words correctly and let the forum filters apply censored tags to words that are deemed too offensive for a group of grown men to tolerate on a screen in their workplaces.

No action was taken on my report for 24 hours and then the post was edited. You will recall that the image was NOT removed, it was placed behind spoiler tags.

My thread questioned whether, given that moderator action had chosen to leave the image on the forum, albeit behind spoiler tags, it was now permitted to use the image in the same way in other posts.

With absolutely no sense of irony you decided that my post was itself an attempt to evade the swear filter and deleted my thread in feedback. However, I note that you did return to the reported thread and remove all instances of the image that contained the word ‘fking’.

Your e-mail informing me that I had had my thread removed for evading the swear filter (missing completely the point I was making - that somebody else was evading the swear filter and nothing had been done about it) contained the following:
‘Moderator notes: Thanks you for your thread, but not for propogating [sic] further the problem’
The email was sent from a noreply address and, as far as I can tell, there is no way to contact the moderators other than by using [report] - which you have ignored, or by using website feedback.

Yesterday I made a new report where a thread contains the word 'z' which was openly displayed (in bold!!!) because the poster had bypassed the swear filter through the use of putting code tags within the word.

You have chosen to ignore my report and I see the reported post has now been quoted several times and is still visible as I make this post.

As before, I ask if you are going to act here? I was banned for similar some years ago - using code tags to evade the swear filter - and it would be nice to see some consistency.

If you are not going to take any action, can we now presume to use the word ‘z’ with code tags so that it shows as typed and not be censored in other threads without risking being put on the naughty step?

Given you still censor ‘Shorpe’ I doubt it but your clarification and action would be appreciated.

It would also be a nice surprise if you could reply on this thread as grown ups answering what I feel is a valid point and without deleting it/closing it presumptively. Providing a way to contact the moderators without using [report] or creating a feedback thread would also be appreciated.

The point here is that someone else has been subject to a moderation decision that I believe to be inconsistent given how I was dealt with for similar acts. I have no issue with being edited and banned - my issue is that there is a lack of consistency of action towards other posters.
