There have been a few occasions recently that two identical posts are appearing but sometimes a day apart.

It’s an iPhone issue afaik. If you happen to refresh a page, by hitting the back button iirc, you can unwittingly post again.

It happens even if you access the same thread again without hitting the back button.

I was deleting the double post but now I can’t be bothered.

I had this a couple of weeks back.

I posted in the watch thread (pic included) then locked my phone and didn't post again for several hours - phone would have locked by then. I came back several hours later and I had reposted the same thing at hour intervals.

No idea.

We are aware of this issue but it isn't something easily fixed unfortunately. Something we'll hopefully eradicate when the forums are rebuilt next year thumbup

I've found that the cause seems to be that if you make a post on an iPhone and leave the confirmation screen open, when you come back to the phone Safari refreshes the page (which is annoying at the best of times) and this resubmits the post, it can be hours or even days later depending on when you go back to it.
