I preffered it the other way, as, I guess, if someone really wants to look at someones profile, they'll go to the threads last page and then clicky on the persons details.

Something that may work well though, would be to have a link instead there where it takes you to the last page of the thread - Its a little fustrating having to click twice (one to get in and one to move to the last page) instead of once.

Go to preferences, and display posts in reverse order.

First page then includes the most recent posts. Simple.

On the forum 'front page' as it were, you can't - only until you click into the thread.
