When Pistonheads started offering auctions for private registrations and offering valuations I contacted them by the email they gave out to subscribers, with a consecutive set of early 1960's BAD plates, both on retention and with great consecutive numbers to go with the BAD prefix. I had them valued a couple of years ago at between £17,000 & £22,000 for the pair. BUT; its now been 5 weeks since I contacted Pistonheads..... No reply what so ever.....Not even a thank you for your email...... So I started looking on Google to see if I was in a minority, but it seems its just a case of unprofessionalism, could this amount to cherry picking..... so; the plates have been put away for another rainy day. Not in any hurry to sell them, I have had them for nearly 20 years....

I used to love Pistonheads but the change in ownership a few years ago is now very evident!! And not in a good way
This is a cautionary tail for anyone thinking of selling on Pistonhead

PH TEAM

Thank you for your feedback, and please accept our apologies for the delay in getting back to you. We have recently received hundreds of valuation enquiries, and our team is working through them as quickly as possible.

Our records show we received your enquiry on 22nd May, so it has been just over two weeks rather than five. However, we completely appreciate that any wait can be frustrating.

I followed up with our auctions team and I believe one of the team has just replied to you now over email to discuss your plates and your options in detail. Best of luck with the sale!
