Auto-lock old threads - might help the mods...
Discussion
Ted - just a suggestion that may help out the mods.
From time to time seriously ancient threads get resurrected - frankly with little more to add to them. Inane postings like "I AGREE!" on a year old thread are somewhat pointless. There's an, admittedly amusing, example "emergency contraception". Usually some mod happens along and it gets locked.
How about a feature wherein threads where the last post was over, say, six weeks ago become locked automatically - or perhaps only a "mod" can post to them? That way the old dinosaurs won't resurface.
Clearly this could be parameter driven and have varying time periods for different fora - say two weeks for the "Pie And Piston", four weeks for "General Gassing", twelve weeks for "SP&L", three weeks for "Advanced Driving" and so on...whatever you happen to think is best.

How about allowing the thread author to then resurrect it if there are furher developments?
What a classic thread. Never written a more controversial review than that one!
