Ted, you mentioned before you were looking at ways to develop the calendar.

maybe you could set up an option to send a reminder email 1/3/5/7 etc days before the event (defined by the user)

Also you could set up a section in the user profiles to list what events someone has attended - maybe with a supporting icon (like the btap ones) to add a bit more detail to the "member history".
