Hi Ted.

I love the Pistonheads cufflinks available in the shop at the moment and when I'm allowed I'll be purchasing a pair. I was just wondering whether there were any plans for a Pistonheads Tie? I'd just quite like something that matches. I'm fussy like that.

Certainly wasn't on the agenda. I think it would be quite tricky to do without it looking a bit nerdy.

But people's tastes in ties are so diverse it would be a nightmare. The cufflinks are nice and subtle, I wouldn't want people looking upon PH tie wearers like they do the pratt in every office who wears a Simpsons tie or a Mr Men tie

Thankfully I have no cartoon ties at all.
I know what you're saying about cartoon ties and I can't stand them either. The South Park ones are just as bad.

To answer Uncle Dave's question I do have a stomach.

maybe a black tie with a black crossed pistons smiley embroidered at the bottom? so it's subtle and not too overt

In that case, how about a tie-pin instead?

I just had an idea for one, Black with Pistonheads.com written down the side near the bottom in yellow. Or in white with speed matters underneath. Simple and yet will look the part.

That's a good idea. I think I like that even more.

Perhaps with a discount if purchased at the same time as the cufflinks

Why not have the crossed pistons logo woven into the silk.

It's not that expensive to do.

You end up with a nice, "tone on tone" colour effect, and then you get a company to make that up into ties.

I envisage a navy silk tie, with the logo repeating a bit like a polka dot pattern...

My 2p is that the average PH'er would not want a brashly branded tie, or god forbid, one make of poyester...

I may look at tie-pins. I fear that getting a tie done that isn't deemed unfashionable by many people would be too great a challenge
