Jeez... if there was one thing that would persuade me never to insure a vehicle of mine with someone, they'd be very high up the list.

Thought the forums were no advertising..?

yup - hope this isn't the start of s slippery slide

Appreciate business needs Ted but sticky sponsored threads - all a bit pickey to mee... certainly not going to inspire me to call them

And given the errors currently on the site - looks like the system itself isn't liking them either

Why?

It's just advertising, it's tidy enough, you don't have to read it and it funds the site.

It's just new, it's not too invasive.

We've had them before and they worked well for the advertiser (and by implication, PHers).

It's not cheap so I'm sure we won't be filling the forums with them.

Several grand being spent on new equipment this month alone. It's got to come from somewhere I'm afraid

IMO it's a nit "in your face" and in virtually every forum... feels just a tad like spam / junk mail... sorry.

You click on "What's New" and get a rather nice list of about 10 or so virtually identical ads... still, a breath of fresh air compared to Mungo and his LCR...

Yep, I do appreciate that they will fill what's new for a few hours, but they'll soon disappear from that.

Actually to be fair it is there.

Click on motor insurance and you get this page which lists TVR...

On a more serious note - is there a special deal for PH people (ie quote your PH number etc) or is this just a general advert?

that appear to be a difference between 'motor insurance' and 'car insurance' on their site

That would be nice, especially for young soon-to-be drivers

Not invasive IMO, if you don't like it then don't read it...

Just remembered where I've heard of them before! confused.com gave me a "cheap" quote for a 1.4 MG ZR of £4400, one call to A plan (who were reccommended by the MG owners club) and they offered me a policy for £2100! Seems like a top company!

I have used A Plan for some years - very competative, very helpful pleasant people - would highly recommend.

Purely because of the ads on PH I phoned A-plan for my impending renewal. £400 cheaper than my current policy. Hell YES!

I don't think the ads are bad at all. One sticky per forum, and a few different logos in your what's new for a few hours.

Seeing the PH ad I gave A plan a ring, and although they couldn't get me a better quote, they did go through the best thing for me to do and give me loads of useful advice (even told me to go with a competitor as I'd do better out of it) How nice of them!

These ads are useful IMO and don't get in the way at all - infact its nice to have a point at which to start your hunt.

From reading many of the forums it seems a lot of people have found them useful.
