Popup 'Dunlop Race Academy' Woes

Today, every refresh or page load in the forums sticks a popup 'Dunlop Race Academy' or whatever popup window on top of the page.

It's not like popups of old which appeared to be set on a random basis, it's *every* damn page load, which is somewhat annoying.

Is this a policy thing or a bug? I'd like to raise a dissenting voice if it's policy, as reading a forum necessitates multiple page refreshes, and once I've seen an intrusive advert once, I've seen it enough

FYI I run Mac OS X 10.4 with various browsers, most commonly Camino (which is a Gecko engine Mac browser, like Firefox)

Update... they've gone. Not sure if it's anything to do with my moaning or whether I've had my quota of popups for the day (I haven't frigged my browser settings to block stuff)...

Some fine-tuning of the intermittency algorithm required perhaps?

I'm still getting them. They really p*** me off. I don't mind the ads, since the site is free, but ones like this which are so in your face are just irritating and I won't click on them as a matter of principle. Please please please Ted don't go down this route!

I'll check with the agency tomorrow.

As I've said before, I turn away more popup campaigns than I accept but if it's relavent (motoring) then I will consider them.

Apologies for the repetition though. That shouldn't happen if cookies are being saved correctly.
