Keep getting a service unavailable page when trying to access PH today. No idea if it's my PC or not but others sites appear to be working ok.

Yeah, it was arsing me around all yesterday, and it's still doing it... Not getting a completely failed connection but it seems to serve half the data and then conk out.

Here's some tedious detail in case it helps...

Using Opera there is a progress indicator which counts the number of images so far received and the number it knows about on the web page so far, which it displays as two numbers, x/y - on a web page consisting entirely of static HTML the second number is the number of IMG tags on the page, on web pages like PH with "twiddly bits" it changes as time goes on and more "twiddly bits" are loaded/parsed.

When loading a thread page, all goes well until the image count reaches 11/12 (ie. it knows of at least 12 images on the page and has loaded 11 of them) and then stalls. At this point it still hasn't rendered any of the page apart from the "PistonHeads GASSING STATION" graphic in the top left hand corner. If I then hit refresh it reloads the stuff it's got already and makes new requests for the rest of it, which succeed, and the page is displayed. If there are a lot of images on the page it usually conks out again when the image count reaches about 28/30, but by this time the text is readable and only a few smileys are missing, so I leave it.

Forum index pages behave the same way except the image count when it conks out is 8/9.

Other sites are working normally.

Forget it Turned out to be my end, even though only PH was affected. Sorry for the misdirection.
