when posting on this forum i don't always see the smilies that i or others have posted. is this a problem with PH or my computer and if its at my end of the stick what, if any, settings should i change to be able to see them?

Not a PH problem Matt.

I think others have experienced it but I don't know what the cause was.

Try Internet Options (at the top of the screen), Advanced and make sure you have "Show Pictures" ticked

Just to add for information:

I have not been able to see smilies for a while. Have been through all the 'Advanced settings' in Internet Options and have ticked all the boxes but to no avail.

Just wonder if it is one of the Microsoft Updates that has interfered with it all, but I can not isolate which one. I guess if it was SP2 then thousands would be effected!

Any other ideas?

I can't see any smilies in people's profiles since the new layout was done. It's no biggie I just thought I'd flag it up.

I've noticed today that sometimes the smilies don't show up unless I right click and click on "show picture"

I've tried that and they still do not appear.

Sounds like you've got the "show pictures from seperate domain to current page" option turned off... it's called something like that in advanced settings...
