Variation in acceptable tags in preview and actual post

Not sure if it's just HTML or not, but that's the example I just tried to use.
<s> </s> (for strike through) renders "correctly" in the preview window but then not on the post itself. I can understand barring html tags on the boards obviously, just thought I'd let you know the same rules don't apply to the preview window. Which could result in some confusion.
