Apologies if this is a re-post.

The recent pop up ads in the classifieds are a bit of a pest.

There was one for the AA that just wouldn't go away, even if you clicked on the link then tried to close the page.

Nothing I tried would shift the pop up so that I could see the car in the classifieds.

I accept that these pop ups are a necessary evil, but how do I close them so that I can see what is underneath?

Cheers,

Doesn't sound like a popup.

Is it a skyscraper (tall, narrow) that is appearing over the text? Could be a formatting error rather than a popup.

Do you know what resolution screen you're running?

Ah, yes....

It is a skyscraper, not a pop up.

Currently running 800x600.

Through Firefox, should that make any difference....

Is it on every advert on or one in particular?

The AA one was impossible to get shot of yesterday.

The only one I have seen today was a Renault one, which was the same.

Sorry, I meant is it a particular classified advert or all of them?

Which page were you looking at?

This one, for starters.

www.pistonheads.com/sales/list.asp?s=172

When I first clicked on the top classified ad, the ad was covered with this "skyscraper", which wouldn't go away. So I had to close the advert and try again.

It seems to have gone now.

Is there a simple way of shutting each skyscraper without coming out of the classified ad and trying again?
