just seen the new feature, nice one.

I presume it works off the postcode that you put in your profile, does everyone who registers have to put their postcode in or is it optional?

Assuming you've put your postal area on your profile, it will show you threads started by people local to you.

Actually, what I'll do first is a non-UK version of the 'local' page.

Would this then do away with the regional forums? Not just the international ones but the UK regions too? Does it defeat the purpose a little having both?

Not really. Just another view on things. You might notice more people local to you that don't necessarily post in the regional forums.

You need a way to persuade more people to stick their postcode into the map!
Shame you can't get some kind of one-off popup to appear when they first login..

Just found this. How local is local? Does it just take for example, XX10 or will it also take XX9 and XX11.
Either that or its wilderness time for me out in the sticks. tumbleweed

It uses the distance specified in the drop down on the right.
