Manual 'last visited' update time?

Not sure if a manual override is the right way of doing it, but my 'last visited' time stamp stays at my first login of the day (if I'm being really busy at work it might skip a few hours after my session logs off).
I know that some people go through the forum with a fine toothed comb to make sure they don't miss anything, but I don't. So it can get a bit wearing for me remembering who posted what last, or when they posted when I've been on here for 6 hours and loads of topics are still being marked as having new content, even though I've read them.
I understand that extending the database to hold of each user's thread activity would be expensive and slow everything down, so that's out.
The next best thing I can think of doing is having a button somewhere to re-mark my account details with the 'last visited' time to be now.
Or can I work around this by manually logging off then back on again at, say lunch time, so I can, at least, break the day in half for my 'last visited' propery?

Under the "What's New" menu, there's a 'Mark all threads as Read' which will achieve what you desire.
That's cool, but I wouldn't mind something opposite.
The option to login as me, but not actually update my last login time, or something similar.
I quite often pop on and off throughout the day/evening and want to be logged into myself so I only see the forums i'm interested in the whats new view, and also see my stuff, but don't always have the chance to read everything I would like. The next time I come on everything has been marked as read from before my last visit.
I can use the 3,12,24,72 hour option to go back in time, but it would be cool if I could set a specific time to go back to, or have a moveable marker that I can set at any time, both backwards and forwards.
