Think the 'new' flags mean that there has been new content posted since your last visit within that forum.

No idea what the thread rating does though - might go and have a try....


Edit: Well I just rated this thread as good (as it's the only option, and said thanks your rating has been recorded. Guess it's a function for determining whats a quality thread and what isn't, although given the options we are allowed to rate a thread with, I would say it's all slightly bias
