Hi,

I'm still getting these problems all the time - hardly any page loads without it hanging half way down the page whilst trying to find an advert. A refresh usually sorts it but it happens more than it doesn't. Also when making a post I often have to stop and refresh so that I can "post reply" again...

Only this site that does it. It was mildly annoying at first but it is really beginning to grip my shit(tm) now...

I don't think it is a problem at my end but would be willing to be convinved otherwise. Ted, I know you said there were issues with the ad provider sites - is the situation likely to improve?

Is it on any specific forum or all forums?

I've been through most tonight and have no problems - but could be specific.

No-one else has report any problems with slowness so far.

I've found it a little slow at various times over the last week or so. It is OK most of the time, but on occasion clicking on a forum post results in a time out. It doesn't seem to make a difference which forum.

I'll check it out again.

I'm familiar with the symptoms you describe as they do match a problem with one of the providers that we had earlier in the year. However, previously it affected everyone and that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Am on the case.

Thanks Ted!

It's on all forums as far as I can tell, on any computer I use here. I'm pretty sure I was also having problems on my mobile when I had pics turned on so I don't think it's just down to my ISP (demon). It's been doing it fairly consistently over the last 3 or 4 weeks although not just now...

Apologies if it's my end, no probs with any other sites though Let me know if there's anything I can do to help (apart from stop moaning )

You may see an improvement before the end of the week as I put a new server live.

Any news on this? It's still happening to me all the time, it just sits there waiting while trying to load the advert or a new page. Doesn't matter how much I refresh it just takes its sweet time.

I can't see how it can be this end but nobody else seems to be suffering from it

New server is now live and I'm not getting any other reports.

Have you got any firewall or ad-blocking type features turned on/off for PH in particular?

Pretty slow for me on and off yesterday. Miles better than it was a couple of months ago, but still noticably slows down from time to time.

Standard port blocking on a Draytek Vigor router and windows firewall. Having the problem both on my desktop and my laptop though, so it can't be machine specific.

I guess it must either be my router or Demon... Weird though, it's been the same for weeks now and only with PH confused

Really scratching my head over this.

I am still getting it - almost every time I post I hit submit reply and it greys out while FF loads. And it just sits there. Hitting refresh does nothing. Eventually hit stop, refresh, whereupon "Submit" is ungreyed. Click it again and it works.

Almost without fail.

Can't see any problems with my link and was having similar problems with my dad's machine 140 miles away (still using Demon but another account) last week

Do you get the same issues with IE?

Considering that your dad also uses Demon and is experiencing similiar issues might imply it's demon-related in some way. But only issue there is that there are [I could safely assume] many other PHer's also using Demon who have not reported any issues.

Trying IE now....

Worked OK then, but it doesn't do it every time...

Most confusing - as you say I seem to be the only person this is affecting

How odd.

Sounds like it's one for Ted though - as there's no obvious demoninator.

Well, still doing it on FF

However - no problem in IE confused

This is on different machines, using IE 7 and 8 (both fine) or FF 1.5.0.9

So just an issue with FF? Can't believe it's just me...
