Thread deleted...why?

I posted a new topic in pie and piston with a very funny (and x-rated) link. I warned people it was nsfw. Some mod deleted it and wrote "unnecessary" as the reason. Is there a single piece of this site that is really "necessary?" Necessary for what? Sustaining life? Even Ted would be able to carry on if this site (or the whole internet, for that matter) didn't exist.

Come on, stop being prudes, stop taking yourselves too seriously, and stop giving dumb reasons for closing down threads you don't need to close. Most of them scroll off people's screens within a few hours anyways.

To require deletion, a thread would have to be egregiously in violation of the rules, surely? Can you please tell me which one(s) mine was breaking?
