Speeded up? you must be joking, over the past few weeks I get 'waiting for www.pistonheads.com...' for ages and ages. I open up Outlook, instantaneous, I open other websites, instantaneous too, so it couldnt be my ISP could it? PH has been very slow to respond, on the level of going for a pee or putting the kettle on sometimes while I wait. It just took me three minutes to open page 7 of the Yorkshire barn weekend thread.

Is it something wrong at my end?

Nothing's changed here recently. Speed should be as it has been for the last few months.

I get the same in parts of the Gassing Station, often it'll sit loading a page for 10 seconds or so, but if I just press the link again (whilst it should be loading) it'll load instantly.

run a speed test like www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk

Download Speed: 6658 kbps (832.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 374 kbps (46.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

suggests a very good reason for instant opening of web pages even with graphics and am playing eve online and so would expect it to be faster than the above

Some of the symptoms you describe should disappear next week when I turn off one of the ad servers we use.

Blimey! Ted you're still there!!

Thank god.

It has been REALLY frustrating getting error messages and slow loading.

I've actually had to do some work FFS!

Hope life is good....

Exactly what I've been getting, for about the last 3 months. Hellishly frustrating, it can take several minutes, but then a couple of refreshes will have it coming down instantly.

Also have the same problem with posting - click "submit reply", and it greys out while it waits. And nothing. Hit stop and refresh a few times and "Submit Reply" ungreys. Click, and it posts.

Happens almost every time. I wonder if we actually get pages [in general] down any quicker now than we did 10 years ago with 14.4k modems?

[submit reply] [stop] [refresh] [stop] [refresh] [stop] [refresh].....

Anybody finding this even worse today?

seem to be spending half my browsing time hammering refresh, and posts never submit first time.

No don't think it's more of of problem than 'before'.

I have alway had this 'problem' - I just click refresh if the page doesn't load within a few seconds, not a big deal really.

Personally I think the site has got quicker after Ted 'sold out' (good on you Ted) but that may just be me?

It could be a FF issue but have not checked with IE 'cos I don't have it on the desktop!

Laptop has IE (6) on it but I not tried PH on it, only really use it for work.

Just a thought.....I sometimes have the same problem (needing to click refresh) on some other sites.

Ted having the cash to do a 24 hour race has nothing to do with site problems Just a shame it's the new circuit

Me selling up has had absolutely no bearing on technical matters.

Watch this space - I hope to be able to deliver some performance improvements this week.
