Hi ted,

when i was trying to add the a google site search of pistonheads into a url code, it stops it from working

i.e.

linky | istonheads.com/gassing+traveltax&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8">www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=siteistonheads.com/gassing+traveltax&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

the correct link follows from this http://snipurl.com/19qqg

It's because a website address is within the URL (2 website URLs in one link), the link then gets confused and thinks it's a toaster.

ah ha! a toaster i always thought of the servers as zx spectrums on steroids...

also maybe another suggestion could be a
tag that stops anything within the tags being interpreted and as such enables you to post links or such like without it going awol

but then some unscrupulous script kiddie will post some code that can do some harm.

a broken link is better than a broken server IMHO.

i mean as in a sense like on other forums where it is just shown as text so it has to be copied and pasted to use it, not so we can insert code

I'm not sure whether this is the same issue, but I have a problem posting a link in the format:
[ url]w ww.website.com| h ttp://w ww.website.com/fulladdress.html [ /url]
(spaces added so not interpreted as-is)
but this only provides a link to the first address, not the second one required.
