Please Sir,

Can we have a rule that if a topic is closed then the original poster has to be sent an email notification of why the topic was closed by the person/mod that locked the topic?

Usually the last post will explain why - assuming it's not too obvious of course.

On 'other' forums, the OP is invited to edit / delete their comments. Seems fair enough to me.

Very often deleted posts do have a note written to the originator. If it's for a very obvious reason (and the OP's tend to know) then I personally do not.
