Resistance to change is a sure sign of old age

And the Vectra was a step backwards from the Cavalier.

It simply does not work as well on a desktop.

That depends on your desktop

It works much better here and the old stuff looks really dated already. Now that the major glitches are gone, I prefer it.

Well, I'm with tonker (as usual).

Whole effect is horrible.

Looks like change just for the sake of change to me ..

I really can't work out when I open a thread with more than one page where I am. And what's with the little book symbol next to the posts.

Change is not always good, and certainly not for change sake. Ted, what exactly was wrong with the old format PH?

I really can't see what usability has been lost.

Ted, okay so you had to update the gubbins behind the webpages, but did you have to make such sweeping chages to the way the site used to operate?

Or if you did, a little at a time please! Not all of us are techno geeks. In fact I know far more about car mechanicals than I do about computers.

I don't believe they are sweeping changes. The reply to thread link has moved and the paging's different. Other than that it's very, very similar.

Changes behind the scenes were enormous, I've recreated the old look for the very reason of making for an easy transition.

Hahahahahaaaaa ... software development is such a joy. Bless the users, each and every one.

Who signed off the UAT?? Who authorised the release into production??

Ugghh .. I don't like it! I don't understand it! Why you doing that? Why don't you do it like this? Put it back! Change it! Make all the bits a nice green colour ... or purple.

It smells of wee. If it isn't just like before but better first time, then it definitely smells of wee.

Neither can I!

I think it is all coming together just great.

I really like the new "type in a page number" bit on multiple page threads, added to the prev, next, first and last bits it is now really easy to navigate through long threads.

With all the negative (and downright rude in some cases) comments flying around I was beginning to wonder if this was a paid for premium service that is mission critical to people's lives, rather than the best available free to use forum for chewing the fat about cars and stuff.

Some people need to get things in some perspective.

Keep up the good work Dave.

Given your spelling, that's somewhat ironic

Exactly. Constructive feedback and suggestions are one thing; Simple moaning is quite different.

I don't like the fact that the hyperlinks I've already clicked remain the same colour as the ones I haven't clicked.

It looks messy to me, the blue highlights on my own contributions are awful awful awful

And without meaning to sound cruel Ted, as I know you've done a great job on this website and your business, but the search engine is still very poor indeed

Yeah what's all the blue highlights about, bit strange.

Come on guys, I need details. Suggesting that the search is 'poor' doesn't allow me to do anything about it. I thought the recent revamp brought it up to spec but if that's not the case then tell me with some examples of how it's failing you.
