This question seems to be asked quite regularly these days; but why was this thread closed?

Just because someone had said "keep to the original topic"; blimey, many threads deviate and are still interesting. I thought one of those involved in the "off topic discussion" was a mod anyway?
Better would have been to give the antagonist a warning?
