I put a classified ad on around 1pm this afternoon but it has still not been published. I looked in the frequently asked questions and it says that it usually take an hour. I have had ads published instantly before why is this one taking so much time.

Anyone shed some light?

Maybe during normal working hours - but I don't think that's a 24x7 service.

Note that most of them were out all day today at the Saturday Service.

Plus most are also un-paid volunteers and have their own work/lives to run.

Strange, I thought it was privately owned now, hence the adverts for Course at the Univeristy of Phoenix, Arizona, and other bizarre adverts. Do they still have good old Moderators, working out of the goodness of their own hearts?

I only asked the question as many other adverts had been published since i submitted mine. I am sure they will get around to it, just that it has been the longest time i have ever had to wait.

No worries Damien.

I'm sure it will happen soon enough.

Looks like it will be tomorrow then. Normal working hours like you say. Just strange that i am waiting to be approved when others have gone live since i tried.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow morning then.

Deleted the "wating for approval" ad a few minutes ago and started a fresh one, uploaded the pics and it was live straight away.

How strange. confused

Hi Damien,

We have numerous filters in place to pick up scam adverts (can't say what they are as the scammers eyes are watching spin ), but the first ad you placed somehow triggered the filters, could be due to misspelled words or the car in the wrong category by accident, or one of the other cleverer filters.

Due to the number of adverts being placed on the site, the time it takes to approve an advert has gone up slightly so usually it will be by the afternoon of the next working day before it is live.

We are currently looking at ways to improve this process in the future.. so watch this space (well the classified space)
